I have always believed that anyone can achieve milestones if provided with an environment which polishes one’s strengths, be it intellectual or emotional. During my two delightful years at RMC,… I had the opportunity to choose and enjoy the best practice provided by the college. The interaction I had with my teachers was beyond course book and we had discussions in which we integrated the applications of what we were studying in contemporary world and highly advanced future world. That interaction enabled me to opt a multidisciplinary perspective towards the world around me. University application process can be tiring for each student but I would like to thank my counselor, Mam Zyla Sarhady, who thoroughly guided me through the essentials which enabled me to successfully complete it. Moreover, I also had the opportunity to be among the six high school students from Pakistan to go to a fully funded exchange program named JENESYS in Japan and for that I deeply thank my counsellor Mam Anza Saqib and Sir Faisal Mushtaq for making it possible for us so that we could experience the technological contribution of Japan in agriculture sector and interact with students coming from different countries. This program particularly helped me to identify the level of knowledge and experience I need in order to be able to contribute in the technological sector in Pakistan and elsewhere. By being the President of STEM and Robotics Society and with the aid of my counsellor, Mam Yusra Shaheen, I learnt the responsibilities of a leader to promote science in our community. RMC was not just a college but a family, I shared great moments with my peers, counsellors and teachers which created a positive atmosphere for me to grow emotionally and intellectually. I hope I would be able to utilize this experience in the best way to contribute to innovating this world.

RMC has been an extremely distinct part of my journey in discovering who I am. When I first ran into our esteemed CEO, Mr. Faisal Mushtaq and my counsellor, Ms.… Zyla Sethi – I never expected to know them as I do now. Throughout out my time here, I have experienced things I never thought I would – I had the opportunity to be one of the select handful students accepted to Yale Summer School, and had the pleasure of going to Oxford Summer School immediately after. Being here has opened up so many doors for me – and the best thing was feeling like I was never alone in anything I took upon myself. My family at school, my counsellors, especially Ms. Zyla, were always there to support me in my endeavors. Being elected Head Girl during my senior year was the highlight of my educational career so far – to give back to a place that has given quite so much to me.

3 years down the road, and I feel Roots has prepped me enough to take charge of my life; an outcome achieved by the experiencing Roots in two cities, and… the unrelenting support the faculty provides. The greatest lesson I’ll be leaving my schooling with is that you always create opportunities for yourself. Self-sufficiency, value for family & resourcefulness are few of the things I’ve learned here. From getting accepted to prestigious institutions such as Columbia University & Brown University for summer schools, to securing a full scholarship for my undergraduate studies, I am grateful for all the opportunities and guidance Roots has provided me. Moreover, if it weren’t for my teachers’ influence, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Sir Javed, Sir Yasser & Ma’am Hiba have had an incredible impact on not only my academics, but also my growth as an individual outside the classroom. Food parties with and invaluable counseling from Miss Zyla, life lessons from both of the principals I have had an honour to know; Miss Naila & Miss Fauzia, and friends who have given me memories I will cherish for life.

After having the honor of representing my country to the United States through a recognized program, I knew The Millennium University College was the place where my dreams could turn… into reality. Not a very outgoing person, it has always been difficult for me to initiate things but when I came across the amazing faculty of Roots from great counselors to professional teachers, I realized that I could change my ways. Through my hard work and immense support from Miss Zyla, my guidance counselor, I got accepted not just in the University of Rhode Island with a great package, but to numerous universities I applied to. I am so thankful to all the people from our principal Naila Abidi to all the amazing counselors and teachers for leading me to the right path. And of course, I am beyond grateful to Miss Zyla, for being a great role model and an amazing advisor. These past 2 years of at Roots has proven to be an unquestionably AMAZING journey for me. I would like to thank Sir Faisal Mushtaq for providing us with this amazing opportunity in Karachi and for making all the great things happen. TMUC is everything a person can expect from an A level college and much more. My experience here is one that I will remember my whole life. This is because… it ensures that its students get the best education along with amazing extra and co-curricular opportunities to make their portfolios stronger, competitive, and unique, making them stand out from all others. The opportunities that TMUC has given me are unparalleled. One such opportunity is the JENESYS program, a fully-funded Japanese exchange program for which I was selected because of the help of my counselor Miss Zyla and Miss Anza. I believe that with a dedicated team of administrators and educators along with an amazing learning environment both of which TMUC provided, students are bound to succeed in their future endeavours. I thank my principal and guidance counsellor along with everyone at TMUC and the Roots School System for having faith in me and pushing me towards greatness every day. I transferred to TMUC (The Millennium University College) after my AS level in beacon house. I was offered scholarship here at roots due to my extra-curricular and my academics. This… past last year here in roots has been fruitful and challenging. I met some amazing people here in roots including my counselor Miss Zyla Sethi, our beloved principal Miss Naila Abdi, our academic co-coordinator Miss Sassi, our campus administrator Sir Wali, our admissions counselor Miss Manizeh, and of course the man himself Sir Faisal. I am a science student, whose dream is to become a doctor, specifically a heart surgeon. I’ve always been fascinated by biology and kept my biology grades consistent. My GPA is currently 3.4/4.0, but I’m trying to improve it. I wanted to apply outside so my counselor helped me in achieving that goal. I gave the IELTS exam last December and I got an overall band of 7.5/9.0. I was awarded the Certificate of academic excellence at my college, and also awarded a Meritorious Award at the Habib University. I’ve applied to a couple of places including turkey, and I already got two acceptances with 50% scholarship and financial assistance. I also applied to a couple of Summer schools. I applied to turkey using Tri-Star education and will hopefully hear from them in the first week of April. Besides Academics, I did a medical Internship at the Indus Hospital, and I am also actively part of the debating society. I am currently the TA (Teacher’s Assistant) of chemistry and biology and also the President of the Fashion and Photography Society. As you can see I have accomplished so much here and I continue to keep moving forward.

Coming back from my exchange year in USA, I didn’t look for any other institution, my first and last choice was Roots Millennium College. When I went to RMC for… an orientation session by Sir Faisal Mushtaq, I was immediately inspired by his personality and his passion for providing education and that is where my journey with Roots Millennium began These 2 years have been filled with excitement, challenges and never ending opportunities which play a major part in my education. Being the head girl of the very first batch of RMC, I was handed over a ton of responsibilities which i always looked forward to and they helped me grow and polish my skills. I owe all of this to my amazing counsellor, Ma’am Zyla Sarhady who has helped me out in every step throughout these 2 years and to Ma’am Anza Saqib and Ma’am Hiba Saigal who were always there to give me a push and brought the best out of me. I wouldn’t have been here if my principal, counselors, teachers and above all, Sir Faisal Mushtaq hadn’t believed in me. After these 2 years, RMC will forever be my home and a place with memories i will cherish for the rest of my life. I learnt a very valuable lesson from here, always strive for what you wish for, and you will eventually get there.
