Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level represents the first half of a full A Levels course and gives students the opportunity to study a broader range of subjects without committing to a full A level. Cambridge International A Levels is a ‘gold standard’ qualification, High A and AS Level grades are a key to admission for all the world’s top universities. Cambridge A-Levels courses take two years to complete with exams taken at the end. Subjects Offered
AS and A Level Physics through Cambridge International Examinations builds on the skills acquired at Cambridge IGCSE (or equivalent) level. Included in the syllabus are concepts which are fundamental to the theory of the subject, in addition, a section on some current applications of physics, and a strong emphasis on advanced practical skills. Practical skills are assessed in a timetabled practical examination. The emphasis throughout is on the understanding of concepts and the application of physics ideas in new contexts as well as on the acquiring knowledge. The course encourages creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills which are transferable to any future career path. Cambridge International AS and A Level Physics is ideal for learners who want to study physics or a wide variety of related subjects at university or to follow a career in science.
The syllabus of AS and A Level Chemistry includes the key concepts which are fundamental to the subject theory, to add to it, there is a data component on some current applications of chemistry, and an emphasis is placed on advanced practical skills. Practical skills are assessed in a scheduled practical examination. The focus throughout is on the understanding of concepts and the application of chemistry ideas in new contexts as well as on the acquiring knowledge. The course encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills which are suited to any future career path especially related to the field of Sciences.
AS /A level Biology includes the main theoretical concepts which are fundamental to the subject, a section on some current applications of biology, and a strong emphasis on advanced practical skills.
The emphasis throughout is on the understanding of concepts and the application of biology ideas in novel contexts as well as on the acquisition of knowledge. The course encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills which are transferable to any future career path.
AS & A Level Mathematics develops a set of skills that can be transferred to various disciplines. Included here are the skills of working with mathematical information, as well as the ability to think logically and independently, consider accuracy, model situations mathematically, critical analysis of results results and reflect on findings. Learners can apply these skills across a wide range of subjects and these skills equip them well for progression to higher education or directly into employment. At AS level, instructors can choose from three different routes to Cambridge International AS Level Mathematics: Pure Mathematics only, Pure Mathematics and Mechanics, or Pure Mathematics and Probability & Statistics. At A Level, instructors can also choose from different routes to Cambridge International A Level Mathematics depending on the choice of applied mathematics (Mechanics and/or Probability and Statistics). Kindly note: From 2020 Cambridge International A Level Mathematics has two different routes: Pure Mathematics and Probability & Statistics only; or Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Probability & Statistics.
Further Mathematics provides deeper grounding in, and greater conceptual understanding of, both Pure and Applied Mathematics by introducing students to such topics as complex numbers, matrix algebra, differential equations, Taylor series, and others. All these ideas are extremely important for the establishment of many scientific concepts present today and, for those passionate about Mathematics, are very interesting to learn in their own right.
The students will study various disciplines including information representation, communication and Internet technologies, hardware as well as software development, and database modelling. As they progress, learners will develop their thinking skills and use problem solving to develop computer-based solutions using algorithms and human and non human programming languages. Studying Cambridge International AS and A Level Computer Science will help learners develop a range of skills such as thinking creatively, analytically, logically and critically.
The Cambridge International AS and A Level English syllabus provides students with range of texts in the three main forms: prose, poetry and drama. Set texts are offered from a wide range of different periods and cultures. Through this curriculum, students develop skills of reading and analysis of texts, and are encouraged to undertake wider reading to aid understanding of the texts studied. Additionally, they are taught skills of effective and appropriate communication including the ability to discuss the critical context of texts.

Art & Design subject allow students to express with a variety of experiences exploring a range of art media, processes and techniques. The coursework ranges from traditional method to new media; the use of drawing for different purposes, using a variety of methods and scales. Students will work in one or more areas of Fine Art such as drawing and painting, mixed media (collage), printmaking and photography. Relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design are studied, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples.
Trips may be taken to nearby art galleries and museums.
The Business Studies syllabus enables learners to understand the nature and scope of business, and the role it plays in our society. The curriculum covers; economic, environmental, ethical, governmental, legal, social and technological issues, and offers a critical understanding of organizations, the markets. Students gain an understanding of the management of organizations and, in particular, the process of decision-making in a dynamic external environment.
Through the Cambridge International AS and A Level Economics syllabus, students learn how to explain and analyze economic issues and arguments, evaluate economic information, organize, present and communicate ideas and judgments clearly. The curriculum covers a range of basic economic ideas, including; an introduction to the price system and government intervention, international trade and exchange rates, the measurement of employment and inflation, and the causes and consequences of inflation. Students also gain an understanding of the price system, the theory of the firm, market failure, macroeconomic theory and policy, and economic growth and development.
The Cambridge International AS and A Level Accounting syllabus enables students to apply their accounting knowledge and understanding in order to analyze and present information, give reasoned explanations, and make judgments and recommendations. The curriculum covers topics such as the recording of financial information, accounting principles and control systems, and the preparation of final accounts for a variety of different organizations and businesses. Students learn about raising capital by shares and loans, ratio analysis and cost accounting, and the preparation of cash flow statements, cash flow analysis, and standard costing and investment appraisal, among other topics.
The Cambridge International AS and A Level Psychology syllabus aims to enrich students with appreciation of the subject by exploring ways in which psychology is conducted. As part of the course, students review important research; this provides an insight into the ways in which psychology has been applied, thereby leading to a better understanding of key themes and issues. The curriculum reflects five core areas of psychology; cognitive, social, physiological, developmental and the psychology of individual differences.
The Cambridge International AS and A Level Sociology syllabus offers students the opportunity to not only to explore the processes that are shaping current trends, but also to develop an understanding of the complexity and diversity of human societies and their continuities with the past. The curriculum of this course aims to stimulate awareness of contemporary social, cultural and political issues, and focuses on the importance of examining these issues in a rigorous, reasoned and analytical way.
Cambridge International AS and A Level English Language aims to give students the opportunity to study English language and its use in contemporary communication. The curriculum encourages a critical response to texts in a range of forms, styles and contexts, and promotes skills of communication, reading, research and analysis. Through their study, students develop an ability to read and analyze material, gaining further knowledge and understanding of English language features and issues, and writing clearly, accurately, creatively and effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences.
Media Studies is one of the few subjects to allow students to develop practical skills to create their own media products as part of their coursework ranging from creating magazines, music videos, print adverts, and even creating shorts films using equipment and software.
